PVD Gold Plating — Durable Luxury Technology
Every piece of silver at PALESSI receives the same level of perfection and care as a work of art.
At PALESSI, excellence does not stop at design: it is also in the way we protect and perfect every piece. Our PVD gold plating (Physical Vapor Deposition) represents the highest standard in coating for silver jewelry.
What is PVD gold plating?
The PVD process consists of the deposition of ultra-thin layers of pure gold onto the surface of the silver through vacuum vaporization. Before applying the coating, the piece goes through meticulous preparation, where the surface is cleaned, activated, and sealed to ensure perfect molecular adhesion between the silver and the gold. The result is a uniform, brilliant, and highly resistant finish.
Durability and resistance
Unlike traditional methods such as electroplating, PVD coating offers superior durability, resisting wear, discoloration, and the passage of time. Each layer is deposited at an atomic level, creating a virtually unbreakable bond between metals. PVD-plated pieces maintain their color and shine even after years of use.
Care and maintenance
Although PVD is highly resistant, luxury requires care. To extend its lifespan, avoid contact with abrasive products, perfumes, chlorine, detergents, or harsh chemicals, as well as extremely humid or saline environments. With proper care, your jewelry will retain its original finish for many years.
Differences from other methods
Unlike electroplating, which deposits gold using electrical current in a liquid solution, PVD uses vacuum vaporization technology. This allows for a more uniform, deep, and durable finish, with a visually richer texture that is resistant to wear.
At PALESSI, we choose PVD not only for its resistance, but because it represents what we believe:
luxury is not found in what is fragile, but in what is eternal.
